Registration

This DRSF is open to all students in grades 4 to 12 who live in Durham Region (Ajax, Oshawa, Pickering, Whitby and the townships of Brock, Scugog and Uxbridge) who are enrolled in public or private schools or are home-schooled. Participants do not have to have participated (or won) at any other science fairs (e.g. at their schools, libraries or other local organizations). They can enter the DRSF directly with a project that they completed in school or that they did on their own while pursuing a special interest.

Durham Regional Science Fair for 2024

The Durham Regional Science Fair (DRSF) will be held “in-person” at Ontario Tech University-North Campus on Saturday April 6, 2024 (from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE DRSF FOR 2024

There are three steps to be completed for registration:

STEP 1:   Create and use a Youth Science Canada (YSC) Portal account  (scroll down to bottom of this page).

STEP 2:  Complete Survey Questions and download the required forms listed on the Portal website for Durham Region.  Complete and submit required forms to the DRSF organizers (using email:  [email protected]).

 STEP 3:  Submit the Participant Registration Fee ($10 Cdn).

Registration Instructions

STEP 1: Create and Use a Youth Science Canada (YSC) Portal Account

  1.  If you do not have a YSC Portal account, create one using the form (at bottom of this page).

  2.  If you have a project partner, both partners will need to create a separate YSC Portal account using a unique email address for each partner.  Later, both accounts can be linked to the joint project.

  3. If you participated in a regional STEM fair that used the YSC Portal or the Canada-Wide Science Fair portal previously (in 2021 to 2023, click the Login link in the form below and enter your YSC Portal account information that your have used previously).

STEP 2:  Download the Forms provided in the “Additional Information” section of the YSC Portal Registration Site

  1. Once you have registered your Participant Information and Project Details in the YSC Portal for the Durham Regional Science Fair, you should receive a confirmation email indicating that you have provided all of the required personal and project details required for registration.

DRSF-2024-Ethics Rules

STEP 3:  Complete Registration Payment Form and Submit Participant Fee Payment

Starting with this year’s Durham Regional Science Fair-2024, there will be a registration fee required.

  1. Go to the link at Registration Payment form.  Complete this payment form and submit your participant fee of $10 (Cdn) using a valid credit card (either Mastercard or Visa).

  2. You should receive a second confirmation email showing that your registration fee has been received.
