Thursday, January 15, 2026 – Interactive STEM Fair Info Night #1 (Algoma University Room CC305 – Download Map)

6-8pm: Join Science North for an engaging information night designed to support students and families as they prepare their STEM Fair projects. The session will cover how to develop a strong science project, including guidance on selecting a topic and analyzing research findings. Students will also be introduced to safe, reliable websites that can be used for effective research. The evening will conclude with tips on organizing results and creating an impressive display. Participants are encouraged to bring devices with them to follow along with the presentation. It can be any laptop, tablet, or phone.

Sunday, March 29, 2026 – Applications Due

Online applications are due (by midnight) under “Registration” to participant in the Rotary Algoma STEM Fair.

Thursday, April 9, 2026 – Project Set-Up

Set-Up: Project set up is open from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the George Leach Centre on the Algoma University Campus. All projects must be completely set up within this time period. If for any reason part of the project cannot be left overnight, please arrange with the Algoma Rotary STEM Fair planning committee.

Friday, April 10, 2026 – Rotary Algoma STEM Fair

Exhibition: All participating grade 7 to 12 students must report to the fair site and be ready to present by 9:00 a.m. There will be a break in judging from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for students to have lunch (not provided). Judging will resume from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be STEM programming and a snack provided throughout the day.

Awards Ceremony will follow judging and will take place on Friday, April 10 at 3:30 pm

Family, friends, and teachers are welcome to attend the awards ceremony will be held at the George Leach Centre. All students are encouraged to attend. There will be awards, cash prizes, and scholarships distributed. There may be members of the media present to take photos and ask a few short questions. Projects must be taken down and away immediately following the ceremony.

May 23 – May 30, 2026

Up to five students will represent Algoma at the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Edmonton, Alberta.
