Important Information
- Registration MUST be completely submitted as according to the step on the “Registration” page by March 31, 2025.
- Students can enter the fair individually or in teams of two, but everyone must register individually.
- Students/parents must arrange their own transportation to the fair, unless the student’s school has arranged otherwise.
- Students should bring a book or quiet activity on judging day. Students should bring a snack and a lunch for Friday.
- Valuables should be removed from the project after student judging, the committee is not responsible for valuables left behind during public viewing. Alternatively, the student can remain with their project during public viewing to monitor any display pieces.
- Parents and teachers are not permitted in the judging area during judging..
- Safety and Ethics will need to be cleared before leaving the project during set up day. No open flames, no explosives, no liquids in quantities greater than 500 ml. All liquids should be in a sealed non-breakable container. No dangerous moving parts or mold growths. Alternatively, students can take pictures of their samples and post them on their display.
- Project Displays: A maximum space of 1.2 m wide, 0.75 m deep, and 3.5m high will be provided per project. Projects must remain on display at the Regional Fair site for the duration of the fair in order for the student to be eligible for awards. If a project is oversize, please contact the science fair planning committee to make arrangements.
- Canada Wide Science Fair: Up to five students will be chosen to represent the Algoma Rotary Science Fair at the Canada-Wide Science Fair to be held in Fredericton, New Brunswick. This is an all-expense paid trip provided by the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie. At CWSF, students compete for over one million dollars in prizes and scholarships.
