About Us
We provide the pathway from a Classroom Project to the School Fair to the Regional Science Fair to the Canada Wide Science fair and/or beyond!
- Our Regional Science Fair is open to all students, grades 5 to 12, in the SE corner of Saskatchewan. The opportunity to advance onto the Canada Wide Science Fair is open to students in grades 7 to 12.
- We have been transitioning our Science Fair into a STEM Fest which incorporates technology demonstrations, hands-on activities, local career fair booths, and an art of science projects competition.
- We operate under the affiliation of the Saskatchewan Association of Science Fairs Incorporated (SASFI), which is a registered charitable organization and also under Youth Science Canada.
- There have been over 100 alumni since we were established in 1992.
- The fair is open to all students in the southeast Saskatchewan corner from grades 5 to 12.
- We have anywhere between 25 to 80 projects per fair.
- There are always a very wide range of topics that the students investigate, which is a great experience for students as it provides the opportunity for them to pick their own projects, to carry out hands-on experiments or innovations, to find out new discoveries and technologies.
- We have the ability to send up to four students from our region, however, we have only been able to send two students in recent years, due to financial constraints.
- Our regional fair is fueled by a board of volunteers, including several teachers and community members.
- We rely on volunteer judges from the community to run our fairs.
- We are very much reliant on and appreciative of any contributions we receive. We have a sponsorship wall at our fairs, a program where sponsors, judges, and mentors are listed, and we have social media where we ensure that all types of contributions are listed.
